Learner Testing (Alpha)

This test report refers to the following test product: Flash Movie

Learner comments:

  • Don't understand what to do on the first page. Am I supposed to click on an arrow or something?
  • Why are there some comments on the left side? Am I supposed to read left to right, or start right, then move left? Very strange. Maybe you should explain that better.
  • Text has good contrast and alignment.
  • Might use more images to keep my attention.
  • Practice is good, even if it's only reinforcing the definitions, it gets me to click something instead of just read something. Builds associations.
  • Would like to see the practice sessions turned into flash!
  • Connect your lesson material with the practice material. For example, when your practice refers to slide #3, don't call it slide #4. Call it slide #3.1, 3.2, etc. That way all your practice problems have an internal reference to something from your development plan.
Name Practice? Score Comments Suggestions
Bill N 2/3 Mistook Important for Vital. I just need to read the question!
Andy N 2/3 Mistook Important for Vital. You programmed me to expect Vital first.
Will N 1/3 Thought the task was Important, not Optional. Didn't capture the definition. Maybe a little practice with the definitions, can I match them with your version of the definition within the context?
Michelle Y 3/3 The practice is a little overkill! I was able to get 100%, maybe because of the overkill practice? Tricky to put the question about Important first.
Sean Y 3/3 Nice lesson. Would like to see less text per slide, more chunking.
Martha Y 3/3 No problems. I like that the quiz buttons change color. It helps make sure the mouse is over the button before I click it. Don't want to be clicking the wrong button! Maybe label the arrows a little better. Color changing buttons might be hard to see for someone who is colorblind?

The second round of learner testing is chronicled here.
