[Brooklyn logo]USCG Air Station Brooklyn was hosting a lecture series. As the premier expert on aircraft noise abatement in the western Long Island area, Michelle was invited to speak on helicopter entry and exit procedures for Republic Airport. Edward was there on alert duty that day and was immediately captivated by her poise and confidence. Her good looks had something to do with his interest, too.

Her memory haunted him, and when a speaking opportunity surfaced a few weeks later to be given at Republic, Ed volunteered and ventured 'out east' to see if he could meet her again. Sure enough (and not surprisingly) Michelle was working that night. Ed needed to make some photocopies after his lecture was over, and Michelle was on hand to expertly run them off.

They began talking about aviation and juggling and music and Edward asked what she was doing for Valentine's Day, which was that coming weekend. Michelle was running a Valentine's Day event for the SCA, and invited Edward to join in the fun. How could he resist such a tempting offer from such a wonderful lady? The rest, as they say, is history.
