  1. Title: Designing Web-Based Training
APA Reference: Hornon, W. K. (2000). Designing web-based training.New York: John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
Summary: As each new media wave is adopted for instructional purposes, there is a lag in effective exploitation of the unique features the medium brings for supporting learning. This book bridges the gap by providing a rich and detailed reference, providing guidelines and examples than illustrate effective ways to instructionally exploit the unique features the Internet provides while adapting to the technical constraints.
My Comments: This is a great book. I like that you can come at the book with a problem, and the book scaffolding can bring you down to the level of specificity you need, then lets you pull back all the way for another look before diving back in. Just need a general game plan? Start with the table of contents. Need to get more specific in a particular area? Just hit that chapter and start digging. The organization is subtle and powerful, with ample examples rich in graphics. The examples are specific enough to be useful, and generic enough to be applied to multiple tasks.
