March 29, 2007: Thursday all the activity caught up with us. We closed out some of the freebies from earlier in the week, and visited the Bellagio to see the conservatory. Very nice display of flowers and butterflies. Michelle got to see the displays of Chihuly glass. Here's Michelle in front of a giant watering can.

March 28, 2007: Dinner at the MGM Grand "Craftsteak" restaurant, followed by the Cirque du Soleil show "Ka". We took the monorail from our hotel direct to the venue. Public transportation like this rules.

We had the roving photographer take our picture. The dinner was a wide selection of appetizers, meats, vegetables, and desserts. Probably 20 different individual dishes.

March 27, 2007: We had a nice day at the Hoover Dam. Ed needed to do a little research for a class project on an exhibit of some kind. The dam welcome center served perfectly.

Here's Ed on the Hoover Dam, A Modern Civil Engineering Wonder of the United States (the dam, not Ed). The plaque says so.

Michelle gets the good luck from rubbing the statue's toes. A local legend, but good if true, especially during this week's trip to Las Vegas.

March 21, 2007: We got adventurous and decided to check out some new shops - always drove by but never had the time. Well, the shops were a small strip mall half filled. Strange how it looked so much bigger from the road. There was a nice restaurant described as "Hawaii's version of McDonalds" by the manager Richard, called L&L Hawaiian Barbeque. John Bannon told us it's Hawaiian fast food. Ed had Mahi Mahi and Michelle had BBQ chicken. Richard also let us sample a Spam™ sushi wrap. Mmmmm.

March 17, 2007: Michelle's Aunt & Uncle from 'up north' (L.A. area) were in town visiting. Ed was at class all day and missed the fun. Their visit is chronicled at the Fifi site.

March 10, 2007: Went walking today. Stopped by Solé Luna café which is right around the corner. Since we had the camera along to take some pictures of Michelle with her new hair, we took a couple of the people who work and run the café too! They were recently featured in the AAA Magazine 'Westways'.

March 8, 2007: Ed got word today that one of his images was removed from Café Press based on an objection from Coast Guard Headquarters. When he took a look at the site, here is what it said:

Explicit Bumper Sticker

March 6, 2007: We went up north to check out some new hair styles. Michelle looks great no matter what!

March 2, 2007: Michelle has been working on getting paperwork together for the Special Needs folks at HQ. Fingers are still crossed that they'll send us where we'd like this summer. It'd be the best for her recovery.

Ed is trying to get back on the wave of coursework. The Saturday classes mean more time during the week to get ahead, but then *wham*! there's a whole day used up in a blink.

March 1, 2007: Spent some time getting the new mic working today. Had a nice conversation with Bill Parry of Monster Cable. Here's our chat window.
