As you saw from the pictures, my mask was completely face forming and I could not see anything. Of course the literature one receives shows that the eyes of the mask are cut out for the patient. Last Thursday, I asked my radiation team if the eyes could be cut so I could see them and what was going on. Georgine said she would check to make sure the integrity of the mask could handle the openings. I returned Friday and had eye holes! I was very excited. I just have to learn not to smile in the mask or my skin gets caught in the eye hole and gets stuck.
My radiation team consists of Georgene, Phil and John. Phil decided I looked like Liza Minnelli! I thought that was so funny because when I was about 12 my dance director thought the same. I performed "Money" from Cabaret with the older women as my back up dancers. I had a cute costume, a black wig and lots of black eyeliner. I surely had the nose for it! I'll have to find that old video tape. Liza is back in my life again, makes me laugh. It's nice to know someone as amazing as Liza was as tall as me - a nice short 5'4". Thanks for the ego boost, Liza!
So today I show up for my treatment, and see a woman in the gantry that I never saw before with Georgene. Georgene says, "doesn't she look like her?" The other woman, "OMG, she does!" I notice on the computer is a picture of Liza and say, "What, are you showing me off now?" I had baked some cookies for them (really for Ed because he wanted some home made cookies, but there were too many for just us). Now I just have to find those old dance shoes... and bake more cookies for them! (Make sure to click "Read More" to see the rest of the pictures! I haven't figured this all out yet.)
